What a way to ring in the second half of 2024. The announcement of my ambassadorship as Mister Supranational ushered in a whirlwind of activity and it started with a red carpet during the Miss Poland extravaganza. (Photo 1: Red carpet with Peace Sign and Thumbs Up) An absolute honor to get to be on the judging panel of such an honored event allowed me to realize the responsibility that comes with the title of Mister Supranational 2024.
This was compounded the very next day with the Miss Supranational 2024 show as I once again stepped into a role of being a member of the judging panel. An incredible event from start to finish which gave us the awesome Harashta Zahra as our Miss Supranational.
We had very little time to rest on our laurels as we had our official photoshoot the very next day were we had way too much fun but also got to discuss all the work we wish to accomplish during our tenure which reinforced that these titles are ambassadorships and the most important aspect of it all is giving back to the world more than any prestige we might garner. All that and the fact that Tata (Harashta’s preferred name for those she deems are super cool like me) is a trendy Gen Z who is likely to give me a much overdue education around the social media landscape through reels- see cool hand reel on my Instagram.
It has also been just as frenzied an experience being back home from an incredible welcome with friends and family to radio and television interviews I have felt an immense amount of warmth and love from all fronts which have left core memories I will cherish for the rest of my life.
It hasn’t been long since I’ve been given the mantel of Supranational but I’m both grateful and humbled. Here’s to leaving the mantel a little heavier than when I found it because I have added on to the value it has accumulated over the years. Ngiyabonga
