Our Mister Supranational, Fezile Mkhize, returned to the high school where his aunt was the principal, JE Ndlovu High School, in Kwazulu Natal to fulfil his promise to continue her legacy. Honoring his aunt’s great work was one of the reasons why Fezile chose to enter Mister Supranational South Africa and eventually Mister Supranational.
In his own words: “I want to give back to JE Ndlovu High School- a school my late aunt was the headmistress at as an honoring of her astounding work within the community there. My From The Ground Up project is one that has started since 2020 called Let’s Heal Together. It brings men together with a life coach who uses the concept of Heal The Boy and The Man Shall Emerge to try give men, and boys, a safe space to discuss concepts and possibly issues that they might’ve not felt safe to do so within other spaces in society. I am trying to roll out this initiative in a High School to try speak to the young men there so they can start feeling like they can have these kinds of conversations with their peers and hopefully cultivate a generation of far freer speaking men.”
Fezile was greated with great excitement on Friday and the students were delighted to meet him and listen to the message he wanted to convey. In return, he was thrilled to see all the smiling faces, interact with the students and listen to the school choir’s special performance for him. “This is only the beginning and I hope to make a tangible difference in this community this year. Brick by brick we will do it,” he said as he reflected on his time at the school
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Head Master of the school for his support.
